Approach to Care

I am a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University supervised by Dr. Tejal Jakatdar. I believe therapy is a collaborative process in which I support you in making changes you feel are necessary to move closer to a valued life. I take an integrative approach to apply evidence-based interventions in a culturally-responsive manner to help you increase your flexibility and sense of agency in the face of challenges.

Methods of Treatment

I draw from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Bowenian family systems theory, and minority stress frameworks in my therapy work. For clients struggling with OCD and anxiety-related disorders, I apply the gold standard treatment of exposure and response prevention (ERP) to help you build the skills needed to gain back control of your life to live your values.

Cultural Sensitivity

I approach clinical work with cultural humility and responsiveness to client identities and diversity in thought, beliefs, experiences, origins, and language. My experiences as a bicultural Chinese American immigrant with LGBTQ+ identities will converge and diverge from my clients’ in different ways. I will always lead with respect, humility, and curiosity to learn more about your lived experience.

Education and Experience

I anticipate earning my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in September 2026 from Palo Alto University, where I am currently pursuing my PhD. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience from Brown University. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a research assistant studying adolescent trauma and resilience and child development and as a crisis counselor for LGBTQ+ youth with the Trevor Project. As a doctoral trainee, I have provided therapy to individuals and couples at the Sexual and Gender Identities Clinic @ PAU, supported families at Stanford Ronald McDonald House, and conducted autism and ADHD assessments for children and adults at Autism Center of Northern California. Across training sites, I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity discovery, and neurodivergence.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy making pottery, reading, playing board games and video games, hiking, and spending time with loved ones. I have two cats, Borges and Goose.
