Ciera Korte is a Doctoral Candidate supervised by Dr. Tejal Jakatdar. She completed her Bachelor’s in Science in Psychology at Pacific Union College. Ciera earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology as she continues to pursue a doctorate with a concentration in Pediatric Behavioral Healthcare at Palo Alto University.

 

Ciera is passionate about providing evidence-based and client-centered care to support children, adolescents, and families living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and related disorders. She aims to empower clients to pursue their values and overcome obstacles. Ciera believes that change requires identifying growth edges and that healing occurs in a safe and collaborative space. She loves to help client unlock their unique strengths and feels deeply honored to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She is excited to be a part of the Willow Team.

 

Ciera has experience providing crisis intervention and mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in private practice, schools, and community mental health settings. She is passionate about providing affirmative care for LGBTQ+ identifying individuals. In addition to her clinical work, Ciera is interested in studying evidence-based practice and the intersection of anxiety and chronic health concerns. Her graduate research at Palo Alto University focused on childhood anxiety and physical health, leading to co-authorship of one book chapter, four journal articles, and many more conference presentations.

 

Ciera strives to approach each session with curiosity, compassion, respect, and an open mind. While working within evidence-based therapy models, she enjoys using her creativity to tailor treatment to clients’ needs and interests. In her free time, she enjoys baking, art journaling, exploring nature, and spending time with friends, family, and two cats.
